Hands Across the World
Los Angeles is a center for all the major ethnic groups in the world. Inequalities have historically been part of the classical orchestra, and the Andromeda Electric Orchestra is committed to making changes in response to the evolving landscape of diversity. AEO is committed to address inequalities by providing music that represents all ethnic, racial, and lifestyles. We provide opportunities for musicians of all backgrounds to perform as members of the orchestra, including performances of music by composers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds. The orchestra also is committed to the employment of all ethnicities, races, and sexual orientation both in the creative performance level and in the administrative office positions.
The organization is committed to represent all these communities and bring positive impacts of diverse peoples in the following areas.
- Employment- Staff and Administration
- Musicians- Members of the orchestra
- Musical Repertoire- Music by composers from all walks of life
- Volunteers- An essential part of a non-profit organization and people from all walks of life are welcome to join in and help to meet the mission statement of the orchestra
- Programming of music from a diverse background and give equity and inclusion of living composers from all walks of life.
