Marcy Vaj
MARCY VAJ is a violinist/violist, composer, personnel manager/contractor, and teacher. She
has co-produced and orchestrated several albums and written countless arrangements as well
as composed music for short films. As a player, she was a founding and touring member of
The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (1990), was Sir Paul McCartney’s concertmaster for The
Grammys (2012), soloed in 12 chamber concerts in La Sainte Chappelle, Paris (2000), soloed in
chamber concerts in London for The Royal Wedding (2011) and again for The Queen's
Diamond Jubilee (2012). Most recently, she was a featured interviewee on Netflix’s "Feminists:
What Were They Thinking?" and she narrated the podcast on Bebe Vio for Goodnight Stories for
Rebel Girls.
As a violinist/violist Marcy has accumulated hundreds of film credits including: TED, Ice Age,
The Flintstones, Nutty Professor, The Godfather, Are We There Yet, Shrek, Anastasia,
Armageddon, As Good As It Gets, and hundreds of recording credits including Lady Gaga, Dr.
Dre, and Earth Wind and Fire. She has performed live with everyone from John Denver and Ray Charles to Joni Mitchell, from Barbra Streisand to Aretha Franklin. She currently records on Family Guy and American Dad.
